Hi!
I’m Emmanuel, an award-winning producer, editor, and host.
I’ve been chasing great stories my whole life, from writing fiction in my MFA days to running a culture desk at an NPR station to crafting chart-topping podcasts for brands like HBO, Netflix, Spotify, CNN, Amazon, and more.
Whatever the medium – audio, video, live events, museum exhibitions, or on the page – I love the thrill of building something from scratch.
Let’s make something together!

Audio
Since wayyy back in 2007, I’ve been producing and editing audio across a wide range of genres:
- Interview series like Spotify’s What Now? with Trevor Noah
- Museum audio stories like Roc Nation’s The Book of HOV
- Long-form narrative series like CNN’s The Prince Mixtape
- TV companion podcasts like HBO’s The Last of Us
- Film documentaries like Netflix’s The Last Movie Ever Made
- Elevated chat shows like Pineapple Street Studios’ Back Issue
- Branded tastemaker shows like Assouline’s Culture Lounge
- And literature series like KQED’s The Writers’ Block

Video
Back in 2007, I taught myself how to edit video by reading a Final Cut Pro user manual, cover to cover. I’ve been building on that DIY foundation ever since.
Most recently, I’ve produced and edited video podcasts, including What Now? with Trevor Noah, Assouline’s Culture Lounge, and Aspire with Emma Grede.

Hosting
For nearly 5 years, I hosted The Cooler, a weekly culture podcast for San Francisco’s NPR station. (Yes, that’s me wearing a Stevie Nicks-inspired cape at one of our live shows.)
In collaboration with Netflix and Adam McKay’s production company, I produced an audio documentary series called The Last Movie Ever Made about the making of Don’t Look Up. Alongside the voices of Meryl Streep, Ariana Grande, Cate Blanchett, and Jennifer Lawrence, you’ll also hear my voice as the narrator across all episodes.
I’ve also appeared on shows like NPR’s Pop Culture Happy Hour, KQED’s Forum, and Call Your Girlfriend.
Writing
“Why don’t you go play outside with other kids,” my grandfather asked, as I read book after book on the top bunk. “This is more fun,” I said.
That love of books inspired me to study Creative Writing in both undergrad and grad schools (this sentence still makes my immigrant parents’ eyes twitch).
While working at San Francisco’s NPR station, I wrote essays, reviews, profiles, recaps, interviews, and more.
Since then, my writing has found its way into the scripts of every podcast I’ve worked on and on the pages of magazines like Hello Mr.
